Councillors defy official advice over barn conversion SEVEN times its original size
West Norfolk planning committee went against officers’ recommendation to approve a family’s bid to convert a long-derelict barn into a self-build mansion on farmland between Wisbech and Downham Market.
The plans, lodged by local farmer Oliver Hartley, would see the humble 120-square-metre barn in Three Holes surge in size to 855 square metres – an increase of more than 700pc.
