New figures show Breckland Council received 29 formal complaints about the conduct of such councillors in 2025, up from 14 four years ago.

A total of 78 complaints have been lodged against elected representatives serving on town and parish councils across the district since 2022.

Yet despite the surge, not a single complaint has been upheld, with every case dismissed when investigated by Breckland’s monitoring officer.

Breckland is home to 112 parishes, with 94 run by their own town or parish councils........
