Reform-led Norfolk County Council had put forward the closure of Docking Recycling Centre as part of a multi-million-pound package of cuts and savings to help balance the books at County Hall.

The plans, part of £32m of savings put forward to plug a £36m funding gap, were revealed on September 25, with public consultation over the proposed axe for the centre due to take place.

But at a meeting of Reform's cabinet on Monday (October 5), senior councillors announced they were pulling the proposal from the budget - just over a week after they were announced.
