Nearly 4,000 register to have say over contentious Norfolk countryside pylon plans

National Grid's contentious - and bitterly opposed - plans would see 114 miles of pylons taking electricity from North Sea wind farms to the Thames Estuary.

The pylons would stretch from near Norwich to Tilbury in Essex, with National Grid saying they could power some six million homes and businesses.

A process has started which will see the Planning Inspectorate consider National Grid’s development consent application for the pylons.

Members of the public and other interested parties can register to have their say.........
