Norfolk County Council's contentious plans for a 3.9-mile dual carriageway, crossing the River Wensum on a viaduct and linking the A47 to the A1067, were withdrawn last year.

The council pulled the project in the face of environmental objections, including over the road's impact on protected bats.

But the authority still wants to explore different options and has listed the project among its top priorities for 2026.
