"Unknown suspects spray painted graffiti and left four dead piglets in the town square. Enquiries are ongoing."

It is not clear how old the piglets were, how they died or where they were obtained from, with no group so far claiming responsibility.

The bodies have now been removed and disposed of.

Downham Market Town Council said it did not wish to comment on the incident.
