Peter Aldred, 71, moved into his bungalow in Marjorim Road in Bradwell 12 years ago and then last May he had a brand new bathroom installed.

All was well until this January when he noticed that his toilet was not flushing properly and the sewage was leaking behind the vanity unit.

To address the issue he had the bathroom stripped to see what had caused the leak and discovered rats had climbed up from the sewers and chewed at the toilet pipes.
