The multi-million pound Gull Wing Bridge in Lowestoft and Herring Bridge in Great Yarmouth were both vying for the top spot at a construction industry awards ceremony.

And the Suffolk crossing took the prize, winning the "Bridges Design and Construction Award" for projects over £10m.

The raised Gull Wing bridge in Lowestoft (Image: Mick Howes) In the blue corner, representing Suffolk and weighing in at 1,120 tonnes was the £146m Gull Wing bridge in Lowestoft.

And in the yellow corner, representing Norfolk, with a total weight of 2,600 tonnes was the £121m Herring Bridge in Great Yarmouth.
