People were expecting fireworks when Donald Trump and Zohran Mamdani met in the Oval Office in November. Instead, they saw the two New Yorkers exchanging pleasantries and the president heaping praise on the incoming mayor, whom he had previously (and inaccurately) denounced as a communist on numerous occasions.
