The U.S. military conducted a large-scale strike on Venezuela yesterday morning, capturing the nation’s leader, Nicolás Maduro, who will face serious criminal charges in the U.S., according to an unsealed indictment released by Attorney General Pam Bondi.

Nicolás Maduro, who was elected in 2013 and previously served as Hugo Chávez's vice president, is currently facing several charges. These charges include conspiracy to commit narco-terrorism, conspiracy to import cocaine, possession of machine guns and destructive devices, and conspiracy to possess these weapons against the United States. Additionally, Maduro’s wife, Cilia Flores, has been taken into custody to face criminal charges in the United States. She, along with other high-ranking Venezuelan officials, including Maduro's son, are also facing similar charges.

Attorney General Pam Bondi posted on X that Maduro and his wife "will soon face the full force of American justice in American courts."
