Americans who bothered to tune in, who were able to observe the GOP presidential debates may need to use a more time-honored paradigm as a “measuring stick” to determine the real value of the surviving candidates. The persisting lineup of candidates continue their attempts to “enlighten” the American people with their knowledge or wisdom of current problems in America. However, their respective pitches on how they would fix the problems that plague the nation may truly show that some have more knowledge, some have less; some have some wisdom, and some have less, and some may need to fix their view of what they claim to be the real problems.

More recently, Americans who were paying attention witnessed a dramatic upheaval event in which House Speaker, Kevin McCarthy was ousted from his position.

Some are still clueless as to why this unusual upheaval occurred. This ouster may have been a bit more significant than the debates except to serve as mental placemarkers for individual candidates as they pursue their quest for fame, fortune, or power respectively.

Since the days of the 2020 election, the RNC, the controlling face of the GOP, Ronna McDaniel, has denied the existence of significant election discrepancies or irregularities in that election or in the 2022 election. However, this did not stop the RNC from formulating “Election Integrity Projects” across the nation. This initiative was placed in the care of attorney Harmeet Dhillon, who is also someone who has denied any problems with recent elections. Yet, if there were no problems with the elections, why create an election integrity project? Insider GOP information reveals that they are aware of the irregularities in state and federal elections. But, a simple answer would be that the RNC created election integrity projects for the sake of appearances to constituents in order to capitalize on public sentiment and raise money.

Additionally, since the days of J6, the GOP has done little to seriously pursue justice for those who have been unjustly hunted down and grossly overly-incarcerated into a type of political gulag right under their collective noses in Washington, D.C. Such lack of real compassion, or even sustained attention regarding such a blatant injustice sends a very clear message to the American citizens. Of course, the current administration is sending some other type of message to the American people as they have declared citizens who want to voice grievances (which was supposedly protected by the Bill of Rights) as domestic terrorists. In the case of J6 defendants, they were not only labeled, they were also hunted down and incarcerated for extraordinary jail time. Where was the RNC in the fight for genuine justice? Where did GOP candidates in any campaign stand on First Amendment rights? The optics were bad?

Additionally, the recent and relentless attacks against former President Donald Trump have illuminated the existence of the UniParty that more formally emerged from the closet in 2020 to stop Trump from winning that year’s presidential election. This was documented by one of the journalists on the Left, Molly Ball: The Secret History of the Shadow Campaign That Saved the 2020 Election. Several reactions surfaced at the time regarding the arrogant, self-serving claims that were advanced in that article. And, while some of the reactions were quite dismissive, it is possible the “Never Trumper” wing of the GOP did not like being exposed, so they declared the piece was “irresponsible and unfounded.” Trump himself may have then realized the betrayal by those who are Republicans in Name Only (RINOs). Molly Ball seemed to be unable to refrain from crowing about the victory. It was quite revealing in several ways, despite many responses to her article revealing the vested interests in defeating Donald Trump in the 2020 election.

While the RNC proclaimed: “Nothing to see here,” other views from the grassroots were put forth: The Shadow Conspirators Who Undermined the Republic. Since the days of the Russian hoax, the impeachment theater, and indictment charades, the RNC has striven to appear neutral on the efforts to politically assassinate Donald J. Trump. Yet, those in the grassroots, who are paying attention, and those who care, recognize the constant hounding and legal harassment of President Trump are tactics used by many third world tyrants in stifling opposition to their centralized concentration of power. The difference may be that there is no difference. Tyrants and would-be tyrants mainly want to secure and retain political power. Why would the political-criminal-cabal that Molly Ball revealed in her Time article have any different motivation?

Those who have not been paying attention, or those who have been struggling to ignore the treatment Trump is receiving, will be in for a rude awakening, if they ever do wake up. All the precedents that are being established against Trump can be used against anyone who refuses to comply with the dictates or mandates of installed “leaders.” Trump is the target of a political- criminal-cabal that may be much more extensive than Molly Ball had revealed. And, this cabal is seriously attempting to marginalize, if not destroy him. The proverbial handwriting is on the wall, whether people see it or not. This goes beyond the like or dislike of Trump. Marginalizing Trump as a pariah, the Left can use this tactic against anyone to undermine citizen’s freedoms that had been considered essential in our Bill of Rights.

Such an erosion of adherence to our Bill of Rights is not only due to apathy, it is purposeful in at least two ways: 1) there has always been a contingent of Americans who have opposed the Constitution and the Bill of Rights – from the inception of the United States; and 2) there has always been a contingent of Americans who were physically or intellectually lazy, with few or zero principles or values for which they would fight to retain. They wouldn’t mind being blown about by political winds. These two contingents exist today, and it is not hard to identify who they are with a little concentrated effort. Nevertheless, there has always been a contingent of individuals who have been willing to do whatever was needed to sacrifice for Freedom because they truly understood our freedoms are precious. Those individuals are needed today.

In this time, it is imperative that Americans take ownership of their citizenship. It was set up as a government of the people, by the people, and for the people. This must be re-asserted and reaffirmed in such a time as this. To be completely honest, there is no cavalry coming to rescue us and no Marines to land on our shores who will liberate us. God is waiting for citizens to show up and resemble their forefathers who took it upon themselves to give birth to a new nation.

The biblical record does not indicate God ever being inspired by selfish or lazy people waiting for someone else to do a job that obviously needs to be done. The rights that God provided us are under attack by those who care little or nothing for God-given rights or our precious freedoms as delineated in the Constitution and in the Amendments.

If candidates at any level have little regard for God-given rights or self-evident truths as they relate to current issues of our day, they do not deserve one’s donations and certainly do not deserve one’s vote. Obviously, politicians and candidates can deceive the voters; this is an historical fact--not conjecture. However, taking ownership of our citizenship means grilling the candidates about how they stand on contemporary issues as measured against the simple paradigm of protecting or destroying our precious freedoms - a true voter’s yardstick.
