Pony and trap racing has been an issue for too long, writes Sarah Green, the Liberal Democrat MP for Chesham and Amersham.
Also referred to as “sulky racing,” it involves ponies pulling two-wheeled open carts, with a driver, at speed along open roads. The A413 between Chalfont St Peter and Gerrards Cross has become a regular target for such races. What should be a busy dual carriageway is, at times, turned into an unofficial racetrack.
