The market value of assets held by Canadian trusteed pension funds reached $2.6 trillion at the end of the fourth quarter of 2025, a year-over-year increase of 6.2 per cent equivalent to $151.9 billion, according to a new report by Statistics Canada.

It found among the five largest asset categories, bonds posted the largest increase at 8.7 per cent, followed by equities (5.3 per cent), other assets (13.6 per cent) and infrastructure (2.4 per cent), while real estate decreased by 0.7 per cent.
