Palestinian Authority gets another lifeline

There is a back-to-the-future feel about discussions of the "day after" the Israel-Hamas war.

If Israel wants to pick up the pieces of the Abraham Accords, and the prospect of normalization with Saudi Arabia, the price appears to be a Palestinian state under the auspices of the Palestinian Authority.

That was the deal before the Hamas attack on Israel on Oct. 7 — and it remains the deal for the day after in Gaza, this time with even greater urgency.
