With the year coming to a close and Christmas being less than 48 hours away, people are scrambling to get their last-minute gifts and holiday-party essentials. And then there’s me, someone who desperately needs to go grocery shopping but is simply NOT stepping foot into ANY store at this point.

I always try to avoid going out and about during peak hours, but it feels impossible to avoid the swaths of people at every turn and corner around this time of year. I’m just trying to stock up on groceries – not getting caught up in the Christmastime madness that exists at every and any major store right now.

Times like these, I miss the 24-hour storefronts that allowed me to shop in solitude before the pandemic. Sure, there are services like curbside pickup, but that takes away the joy of strolling through the store and coming across items that you didn’t anticipate needing or wanting. I love going to the store, but I just hate that I can’t do so without navigating a crowd of people!
