We asked what you thought of Trump's first year back. Read the responses.

This time last year, we asked our first round of questions for a new project called Forum here at USA TODAY Opinion, asking readers to lend their voices to the conversation. We've had thousands of responses on topics ranging from vaccines to voter regret to the best gifts you've been given and how you're navigating this economy.

But few topics have drawn more impassioned responses than those that touch on President Donald Trump's second go-round in the Oval Office, and recent days have been no exception.

Within hours of posting on Jan. 7 our latest ask on the president's first year back, we had hundreds of responses ranging from utter despair to newfound hope. You can read a collection of those responses below, and here.

After year one of President Donald Trump's second term, I am feeling more hopeless than I was after his first 100 days. Everything seems to have regressed and gotten worse. Affordability is still an issue; his immigration raids are getting more aggressive. The United States has taken a turn for the worse.

Trump's one success may be reclassifying marijuana as a drug that can be medically tested and experimented on. But his failures are so many.
