EDITORIAL: State needs to tighten enforcement of cannabis, vaping laws and regulations
One of the ways the state convinced skeptical government officials and members of the public to support the legalization of cannabis and e-cigarettes was that the sales would be highly regulated and that the state would go out of its way to protect children from accessing the substances and becoming hooked on them.
A slow and cumbersome rollout of the permitting system and the hesitancy of local governments to open up spots for the shops to operate did little to inspire the public’s confidence in the new state regulatory system.
Another concern with legalization was how to keep cannabis smokers from driving under the influence.
It’s illegal to vape or smoke cannabis in motor vehicles, regardless of whether you’re driving or just parked. But methods for determining cannabis........
