For Niskayuna residents and all those that drive, walk, bike or wait for a bus on Route 7, relief in the form of a new traffic plan for the area can’t come soon enough.

During a public information session last week, residents got a close-up, in-person view of proposed plans to make the state road safer, following a number of fatal accidents over the last few years.

The proposed plans include new traffic lights, lower speed limits for all or part of the roadway and a grass median strip to divide the traffic........
