Heritage Iftar Promotes Unity at Sarkhej Roza
Ahmedabad: The historic Sarkhej Roza came alive with the spirit of unity and brotherhood during the “Ishq-e-Iftar – Heritage Iftar” programme held here.The nearly 500-year-old shrine of revered Sufi saint Hazrat Sheikh Ahmed Khattu Ganj Baksh (R.A.), known for symbolising India’s composite culture and Ganga-Jamuni Tehzeeb, served as the venue for the event. The programme was jointly organised by Safar-e-Virasat and Advocate Gulmoin Khokhar of the Gujarat High Court.Among the chief guests was Amitbhai Thaker, MLA from Vejalpur-Sarkhej, who appreciated the initiative and highlighted the importance of preserving heritage while promoting communal harmony. Other distinguished guests included Dr. Mahboob Qureshi, Zainul Abedin Ansari and Reshma Ben Kathi. All guests were felicitated with mementoes, trophies and certificates of appreciation.The event focused on spreading the teachings of the Sufi saint, emphasising love, peace, equality, brotherhood and humanity. Speakers also shed light on the historical, architectural and spiritual significance of Sarkhej Roza and its role in reflecting India’s rich cultural heritage.The organisers conveyed that Sarkhej Roza continues to stand as a living symbol of unity and harmony. The Safar-e-Virasat team received appreciation from attendees, who expressed hope for more such heritage-based initiatives in the future.
