Democrats’ supposed savior placed an op-ed in Fox News Friday, hitting President Donald Trump where it hurts: on affordability and the U.S. economy.

Abigail Spanberger, Virginia’s governor-elect, wrote a well-timed column making the case for her new administration and how they will dial in on the cost of living, which is still out of control in nearly every nook of the country. She also set the tone for a moderate approach to the second Trump administration, writing she is willing to reach across the aisle, in an attempt to appeal to Trump’s supporters. “As the next governor of Virginia, I’m ready to work with anyone, including President Donald Trump, to make life less expensive. Because high costs and the inability to retain and attract top talent to Virginia affect everyone — no matter your party affiliation, and no matter if your company has five employees or 5,000,” Spanberger wrote.
