The NFL is a great league, but politically, they honestly have no idea what the hell they’re doing.

The National Football League delivered a clear statement through its handling of fines following Wild Card Weekend. The league appears willing to overlook certain messages on the field, as Houston Texans linebacker Azeez Al-Shaair was not one of the players penalized for their on-field conduct recently.

The league released a list Saturday of eight players fined for infractions over the wild card round, all related to unnecessary roughness or unsportsmanlike conduct penalties.

Al-Shaair had prominently displayed eyeblack on his face bearing the phrase “Stop the Genocide,” which remained clear as day throughout the game and during his subsequent postgame interview on ESPN. (RELATED:
