Swindon Town have no reason to begin panic after tough week

Although the last week has not gone well for Swindon Town, the time for panic remains a long way off after such a good start.

It was glorious. A triumphant arc that looped over everyone and perfectly struck its mark, like the most dead-eyed of pétanque players who just wants chaos. It made you realise why you fall in love with the game.

No, that is not a description of a goal or killer pass, but of my favourite part of Saturday’s snooze fest: when Connor Ripley knocked one of the multiball balls off a cone from 60 yards away. It was something that gave me a childlike joy, witnessing one ball strike the other plum in the middle, and it popped off the cone and into the advertising hoarding surrounding the pitch.

Ultimately, there was not much to love about Saturday’s 0-0 draw with Colchester United, so you have to celebrate the small stuff,........
