Aidan Borland: Swindon Town's new man who fans will love

In Aidan Borland, Swindon Town have added another battler in the middle of the park who joins looking to make good on his limitless potential.

For their second signing of the January transfer window, Swindon added another midfielder in Borland, who came through the ranks at Celtic before switching to Aston Villa, where he captained their youth team to FA Youth Cup glory.

Already trusted by Scotland to play above his age at Under-21 level, Borland’s arrival will mark the end of Adam Murphy’s time at Swindon, with injury disrupting his time in Wiltshire.

Whilst signing an 18-year-old with 28 minutes of senior football to his name is a risk in a promotion battle, Borland is viewed as a very hot prospect, as was shown when he made his debut for Villa against Wycombe Wanderers aged 17.
