Trump’s recent trial has drawn national attention as the 2024 U.S. presidential election approaches. This trial, part of a series of legal challenges Trump has faced since leaving office, centers around allegations of financial misconduct and business fraud. The accusations suggest that Trump and his company, the Trump Organization, inflated the value of their assets to secure favorable loans and insurance terms, while deflating them to reduce tax liabilities. These allegations have been the focus of an investigation by the New York Attorney General’s office, led by Letitia James, resulting in a civil lawsuit against Trump, his three eldest children, and the Trump Organization.

The trial has seen dramatic developments, including testimony from former Trump Organization executives and the presentation of internal documents.
