SF Giants take nephew of a team legend in third round of MLB Draft

It’s been a summer to forget so far for the San Francisco Giants, but a glimmer of hope just presented itself for the team’s future.
On Saturday, the Giants selected pitcher Jackson Flora out of UC Santa Barbara with the No. 4 overall pick in the 2026 MLB Draft. Flora is widely regarded to be the best pitcher in the class, and a potential ace for a staff that badly needs pitching talent. San Francisco followed that up by selecting outfielder Peyton Bonds, the nephew of former Giants great Barry Bonds, in the third round with the 90th overall pick.
