A mystery surrounding a man found shot to death at a Sacramento softball field in 1980 has been partially solved.

On Jan. 17, 1980, a man in his 20s wearing jeans, a blue sweater and a denim hat was found in the bleachers of a local softball diamond with a single gunshot wound to the head. Forty-four years later, the victim has now been positively identified as William "Billy" Suttle, the Sacramento Bee reported.
