National Day for Truth and Reconciliation Resources at the library
As the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation approaches, the library offers various resources and programs to help people acknowledge and understand the reality of the residential school system.
Phil Fontaine and the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada explore the history of the residential school system in the book, A Knock on the Door. Between 2008 and 2015, the Truth and Reconciliation Commission gathered over 7,000 statements from residential school survivors. The book offers an essential history of the trauma and legacy of the residential school system.
