Honda is recalling nearly 60,000 electric SUVs over backup cameras that can go blank

The recall covers 2024 Acura ZDX and 2024–2025 Honda Prologue vehicles; dealers will replace the cameras at no cost to owners

Honda $HMC is recalling 59,887 electric SUVs — including 44,199 Honda Prologue and 14,688 Acura ZDX models — after a defect in the rearview camera system was found to produce blurry, distorted, or blank images.

At the root of the problem is a manufacturing flaw in which the camera housing was not properly secured, Honda said, leaving the adhesive vulnerable to gradual separation. When the bond gives way, water can work its way into the unit, attacking internal electrical components and ultimately causing the image to degrade or disappear........
