Although Riverview Park and Zoo is open all year round, the arrival of Labour Day means the transition from summer to autumn operating hours. This happens Tuesday, Sept. 8 and continues until Thanksgiving Monday. The zoo’s autumn hours are 9 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. daily. 

There is still time to catch a ride on the miniature train before it is put away for the season; however, the train was closed last week for maintenance. Check for updates on the zoo’s social media accounts. 

The train now runs on weekends only, from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. Other amenities also open weekends only, including Guest Services from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. and the Hatch Coffee Shop from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. The splash pad will be closed. 

Now that fall is almost here, it is still an excellent time to visit the zoo with lots to see. The animals are often more active during the cooler weather. The playground is open and sure to be a hit with all kids.

On the Tuesday following Thanksgiving, winter hours will be in effect until the May long weekend,........
