Lahore Traffic Police has continued its crackdown on unlicensed drivers, and it caused influx of applicants at driving license centers. Amid the action, police shared a breather for citizens, announcing some relief about driving licenses.

Despite the awareness and guidance issued by traffic police officials, some citizens failed to pass the driving test in one go, especially overseas Pakistanis.

With the latest amendment in Punjab Motor Vehicle Rules 1969, Traffic Police reduced waiting period for reattempting the road driving test from 42 days to just 15 days.

Post shared on official handle of Lahore Traffic Police handle said it aims to streamline the licensing process.

The road driving test assesses driving skills on a designated course, while the e-sign test evaluates theoretical knowledge within a two-week window. Passing both tests qualifies an individual for a driver’s license.

This amendment is a step forward in simplifying the licensing process and promoting road safety in Punjab, ensuring that licensed drivers are skilled and responsible.
