CRIMINALS invest significant resources into independent projects to incubate in society, establish respectable space and formulate social networks.

In recent years, fake transfers of plots and forged documents have been carried out by grabbers and gangsters, often using alien identities to camouflage themselves. These individuals, with connivance from clerical staff of concerned departments, have actively tampered with Defence Housing Authority (DHA), Karachi property records, causing losses to the national exchequer and genuine property owners.

Revenue record tempering involves the illegal addition, deletion or alteration of official land documents, often for financial gain or to transfer property illegally. This practice results in ownership disputes, fraudulent entries and protracted legal battles. Courts frequently order investigations and recommend modernized record-keeping techniques to curb such fraud.
