Mr Butcher began to struggle with day-to-day activities such as walking, with him and his wife Ana living in fear for what was happening.

He was eventually diagnosed with motor neurone disease in February 2025 and a three-year limit was put on his life.

A community has since come together to host a car show, with funds going towards a new accessible vehicle that Mr Butcher can get into on his wheelchair and still feel a sense of independence.
