In a statement shared to Facebook on Sunday, Taverham Vets bosses said: "Please note that due to the growing number of outbreaks of bird flu across Norfolk and Suffolk recently, our current protocol means that no birds are permitted in the building.

"Assessment of birds will be carried out in our outside facility and will undergo strict triage and treatment as necessary, prior to transfer to a rehabilitation facility where appropriate.
