Stuart Whitaker has been blown away by the response from hundreds of customers to Platter, which he opened inside John Lewis in Norwich on Monday morning.

The cafe has an updated hot food menu featuring fresh pizza, fish and chips and curries, alongside a revamped cake selection and its own East London-roasted coffee blend.

The launch "exceeded" Mr Whitaker's expectations, and he is pleased to see the cafe at the store in All Saints Green open in time for the festive rush.

He said: "With very little publicity, we served around 400 customers.
