PM Modi and Uzbek President Mirziyoyev seal long-term uranium deal as India upgrades strategic partnership

Uzbekistan has announced a 30-day visa-free regime for Indian citizens as Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit leads to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, a $5 billion trade target and deeper cooperation in uranium, defence, energy and connectivity.

New Delhi: India and Uzbekistan on Sunday took their relationship to a new level, with the two countries elevating their ties to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. The announcement came after talks between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev in Tashkent.

The two leaders agreed to expand cooperation in defence, trade, energy, connectivity and other strategic sectors. The move comes as India and Uzbekistan mark 15 years of their strategic partnership.
