Another futile Russia peace talk: Letters to the Editor — Dec. 5, 2025
This latest contorted attempt at peace in Ukraine belies a fundamental truth: Russia won’t accept a reasonable peace as long as it is gradually advancing on the battlefield, regardless of the cost of the advance (“Vlad’s ‘end’ vision,” Dec. 4).
The solution is to adequately equip Ukraine so it can turn 50 square miles lost per week into 50 gained per week. Once that shift happens, Russia will come to the table real quick.

I believe that our involvement in the unwinnable war with Russia needs to end. Let the European Union deal with this situation.
Neither money nor weapons will suffice. Ukraine needs fighters, and I, for one, do not want our young men and women’s boots on the ground. We need to deal with our own serious issues, of which there are many.
