Palmstreet, an online platform for selling plants, reptiles, and more, turns fans into founders and passions into profits, opening up what CEO Chen Li predicts will be a huge market for live selling on the internet.

Twice a week, Helen Gutierrez fires up her phone and auctions off exotic plants from the backyard of her Miami home. Her specialty is anthurium mother plants, or plants that can be bred right away. The plants, which she calls bougie bitches, typically go for around $300.  

Gutierrez sells her plants on Palmstreet, a livestream auction platform and marketplace with a devoted following of plant lovers. She launched her shop, called Rare Naked Plant Co. after her hairless cat, Bruno, in February 2024, and says typical auction can net anywhere from $1,000 to $10,000. After four........
