The Roomba maker is set to be acquired by its Chinese supplier.

iRobot, a leader in consumer robots, announced today that it has filed for bankruptcy and will pass control to its Chinese supplier, Shenzhen Picea Robotics. Its product, the Roomba, was a pioneer of robot vacuums. 

The company said the main factors for the filing were rising costs from tariffs and increased competition from rivals like Ecovacs Robotics in China. Last year, the company saw $682 million in revenue, but economic challenges sent it on a downward........
