Donald Trump (R) has said he is "disappointed" in Volodymyr Zelenskyy

Donald Trump has accused Volodymyr Zelenskyy of not being “ready” to accept the US peace plan to end Russia’s war against Ukraine.

US and Ukrainian officials have just spent three days trying to find a compromise over Trump’s proposals, but failed to secure a breakthrough.

Trump told reporters on Sunday night: “I’m a little bit disappointed that President Zelenskyy hasn’t yet read the proposal, that was as of a few hours ago. His people love it, but he hasn’t.”

Zelenskyy adopted a softer tone when he later spoke about the talks, saying the conversations were “constructive, although not easy”.

In his daily social media video, the Ukrainian leader said on Sunday: “The American representatives know the basic Ukrainian positions.”
