The UK's Favourite Christmas Song Probably Isn't The One You Had In Mind

Every year in the lead-up to Christmas, the UK singles chart becomes something of a low-key battle between two festive titans, in the form of Mariah Carey’s All I Want For Christmas Is You and Wham!’s Last Christmas.
Both tracks’ popularity on streaming platforms mean that every December, at least one of them will manage to reach number one again, with the late George Michael’s offering even setting a new record in 2024 when it became the first song to top the festive chart on two separate occasions.
What might surprise you to hear, though, is that despite these songs’ popularity, neither of them has been named the British public’s favourite Christmas tune.
