Margot Robbie Breaks Silence On Wuthering Heights Casting Backlash

Margot Robbie has spoken out for the first time about the controversy surrounding the casting in her upcoming film Wuthering Heights.
The Australian star is a producer on Emerald Fennell’s much-hyped adaptation of the classic novel, as well as starring as one of its leads, Cathy.
When the news of Margot’s casting was announced last year, it raised eyebrows due to the fact that the three-time Oscar nominee is notably older than the character introduced in Emily Brontë’s book, as well as the fact that Cathy is depicted as blonde in the film.
There was similarly a furore around the fact that Jacob Elordi is due to play Heathcliff, who is indicated in the book to be a person of colour.
