David Walliams has been dealt another blow after being dropped from the line-up of a leading children’s book event.

Last week, it was confirmed that the comedian, actor and children’s book author’s publisher, HarperCollins, had severed ties with him due to allegations of inappropriate behaviour towards female employees.

“After careful consideration, and under the leadership of its new CEO, HarperCollins UK has decided not to publish any new titles by David Walliams,” a spokesperson said.

“HarperCollins takes employee well-being extremely seriously and has processes in place for reporting and investigating concerns.”

A spokesperson for the Little Britain comedian later denied that the performer had ever “been informed of any allegations raised against him” by his publisher, and insisted that he “was not party to any investigation or given any opportunity to answer questions”.
