Package holiday and airline giant reveals results and price moves

Package holiday giant and airline TUI has revealed record profits from its hotels and resorts, and cruises divisions, while reporting a 33% surge in overall underlying earnings on the back of “robust” consumer demand.

TUI flagged a continuing strong performance from its UK business, which has sold 62% of the winter 2024/25 season. The travel giant noted these bookings “are in line with the high levels of winter 2023/24” in its UK operation.

And it said overall summer 2025 bookings are “well ahead at 7%”, with average selling price also higher at 3%, declaring: “This is a promising start in a higher cost environment.”

It observed that, to date, 17% of the summer season has been sold.

TUI revealed that, for the summer 2025 season, “the UK is 27% sold with bookings at -3% with strong momentum in the last four weeks”.

Shares in TUI rose about 3% on the Frankfurt stock market.

The travel giant’s strong showing comes hard on the heels of package holiday giant and airline Jet2 late last month reporting “another record performance in terms of passenger numbers, revenues and profitability”.

And budget airline easyJet late last month revealed it had enjoyed another record summer, as it unveiled a 34% hike in annual pre-tax profits to £610 million.

TUI reported yesterday that it had during the year to September 30 achieved a 12% rise in group revenues to 23.2 billion........
