"There is nothing to celebrate this year," a representative of the families of hostages asserted in the Knesset last week. "It will be a celebration over their blood." No protest was heard from other members of the group. Another group of hostages' relatives announced that concurrent with Monday evening's torch-lighting ceremony, which serves as a conclusion of Memorial Day and the beginning of the Independence Day celebrations, they will hold a "torch-extinguishing ceremony." The message is clear: Turn off the lights! The hope of the Jewish State is lost.
