Pakistan’s economy is grappling with significant challenges, including trade deficits, unemployment, energy crises, and stagnant productivity in key sectors. These issues hinder sustainable growth and exacerbate reliance on expensive imports. However, by leveraging science and technology (S&T), Pakistan can develop localized, cost-effective solutions tailored to its unique needs.

In today’s fast-paced global environment, shift in the geopolitical landscape, countries are leveraging S&T to boost economic development, enhance social progress, and improve global competitiveness. For Pakistan, a nation abundant in human potential but hindered by economic challenges, aligning scientific and technological efforts with local needs is essential for achieving real progress. Localizing S&T is an urgent necessity for Pakistan’s sustainable economic growth and stability.

The overreliance on imported technologies and foreign expertise has limited Pakistan’s ability to fully address its unique challenges.
