I ask, because I see more and more people on social media claiming they are hard done by when expected to tip.
Those complaints are invariably aimed at more expensive, fine-dining establishments where the bill can run to more than $100 per person.
Full disclosure, one of my sons is a Michelin award-winning restaurant owner and I am a small (very small) investor in his business.
That said, if you don’t tip, you are just cheap. You’re willing to treat hard-working people poorly and use lame excuses to do so.
