Future of Norfolk pub 'at risk' after beer garden slashed in half by fence

The Wheel of Fortune is an award-winning pub in Alpington, near Poringland, that has been run by Barry Gelder and Naomi Shulver for nearly four years.

Over that time it has hosted several large events in its garden, such as its beer festival and weddings which have become key to the pub's trade.

But after a fence was put up without warning one day by a third-party landowner, cutting the beer garden in half, the couple feared what this would mean for the pub's future.

Ms Shulver said: "The garden is really important to use - those events are huge for us and they are well supported."

She described the fence as "disheartening" and the couple said in a post online that they now have to "think carefully about the future of the community pub".

The section of the garden which has been fenced off was sold prior to the couple purchasing the pub and despite them........
