Great Yarmouth Borough Council's town centre taskforce has secured 12 successful prosecutions resulting in more than £1,500 in fines since its launch in March.

The force has also issued 45 fixed penalty notices and 46 dispersal notices to tackle anti-social behaviour since the set-up of the initiative.

It comes after nearly 11,000 illicit cigarettes were seized during raids on a string of shops within 350 metres of each other in Great Yarmouth in late July.
