Locals in Great Yarmouth were left frightened when a vehicle drove onto St George’s Park on Saturday, September 5 at around 10.20pm and chased a large group of youths around the park.

A video posted on social media showed a vehicle driving erratically on the grass and swerving between trees and benches pursuing the youngsters.

It is believed that the group began throwing items at the car before it fled the park via Trafalgar Road.

Kerry Bauer, 43 and a full-time mum, witnessed the whole ordeal – which lasted around ten minutes – from her window on St George’s Road.

“It was trying to run people over”, she said.

“I could hear a lot of screaming. It was chasing people around the park.

“If the cenotaph wasn’t there, people could have been severely hurt. There were like ten to 15 kids around the park.

“I was slightly scared and worried. I had never seen anything like that ever before. It made me think that we are getting more and more like America every day.”
