Network Rail has announced its annual list of the most bashed bridges after seeing incidents of vehicles striking Britain’s railway bridges rise by 9pc in a year.

Abbey Farm bridge in Thetford was hit a total of 11 times in 2024/25, putting it in joint seventh place.

The space underneath the bridge is just 7ft 3ins high, meaning large vehicles often get stuck - despite graffiti warning vans against using the road.
